Ingredients
1 head of cauliflower (approx. 4 cups of florets)
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup all-purpose flour (1/2 white whole wheat and 1/2 chickpea)
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp of smoked paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1 bottle mild red hot sauce (5 oz; preferably La Paloma mild sauce from Rancho Gordo)
1 tbsp vegan butter
Recipe Steps
Line baking sheet(s) with parchment paper or grease very well with oil. Preheat oven to 450.
Wash and cut cauliflower into bite-sized pieces. Dry well.
Mix the milk/water/flour and spices in a large mixing bowl.
Mix until the batter is thick and is able to coat the cauliflower without dripping.
Add cauliflower to bowl. Shake well.
Lay the cauliflower in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown, flipping the florets over halfway.
In a small saucepan on low heat melt butter and mix in hot sauce. Remove from the heat just as it starts to melt. Stir together and set aside.
Remove cauliflower from the oven and toss with wing sauce in a large bowl.
Return cauliflower to the baking sheet and bake for another 10-15 minutes or until crisp.
